“Until you have the inner discipline that brings calmness of mind, external facilities and conditions will never bring the joy and happiness you seek. On the other hand, if you possess this inner quality, calmness of mind, a degree of stability within, even if you lack the various external factors that you would normally require to be happy, it will still be possible to live a happy and joyful life.” – Dalai Lama

  1. Funny – I was telling my sister about a challenging yoga class I was in today. Challenging in balance moves, which I’m NOT good at. As I wobbled and stepped out of the attempted poses, she said, “it’s not about perfecting a move, it’s about having the courage to put your body into an unfamiliar place.” I still wavered, but I approached the moves in a new way and was much more confident and even successful.

It’s sort of the same, thing, you know? I think inner discipline comes from courage, and courage becomes the touchpoint. Henceforth, external factors become toast.
