… been listening to some Marley, this song came on and reminded me of when my boys were young and when it was bedtime… time to put on pajamas, I would occasionally put on this song… and we would dance around putting on jammies… jammin’ …

This “long version” is from the 1977 imported 45-speed 12″ single… I know this because my brother owned a copy… a higher RPM speed LP = awesome sound!… jammin’!

… you have your original material on the tape, you play it backwards and you add a tape delay, that means as the sound is hit backwards you’ve got these repeats trailing off of it, now when you play that forwards what you get is a series of anticipations creeping down on to each initial pulse, instead of the echo following the note the echo would precede the note…
